Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actor who is employed in film and TV is well known for movies like Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. As the sole daughter of Romanian actors Valentin Platareanu Alexandra, she entered the show business at an early age and was being the lead in a variety of shows on television by the time she reached the age of 16. Her acclaimed and critically acclaimed performance in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including the role of the secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge, in the commercially and critically highly successful Oscar nominated war-time drama film Downfall. Additional Oscar nominees featuring the famous diva are The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra participated in several well-known national and international projects over time. This includes The British biographical Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time and as French miniseries about the history of Napoleon. In addition, she was a member of juries at Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
